Besides various events like Bike to Work Day coming up, there are a number of art events in the coming weeks:
Reconstructed World - Friday, May 13, at the San Pablo Arts District. It's a video exhibit put on by di Rosa Art.
Oakland Indie Awards - Friday, May 13 - The 5th annual celebration of Oakland artists and businesses. The party will be held at the Kaiser Center roof garden, with lots of Oakland food, music and art on hand.
Mururama - Saturday, May 21 in many of the usual Art Murmur locations. Murmurama is a special event during the weekend of the San Francisco Art Fairs.
Jingletown Arts Walk - June 4-5 in Jingletown. The Arts Walk is a chance to see what artists in Jingletown are up to. The area is known for mosaics, but there's a lot else going on there, too.
East Bay Open Studios - June 4-5 and 11-12, all over Oakland. There are hundreds of artists participating, all over Oakland and the East Bay. Check the handy map for locations.
First Friday - June 3 in various locations. There's the Art Murmur, of course, but there's also the Midtown Arts District First Friday Art Walk. (The name 'midtown' is somewhat unclear, but the locations are in what I consider Uptown and Downtown, or Oaksterdam, if you prefer.) And there are other art events that take place on First Fridays in Oakland.
