Happy Thanksgiving, Oakland! The big event this week is Plaid Friday, the shop-local alternative to the insanity of Black Friday. Shop local and help keep Oakland in the Black! It's also the final weekend of Peralta Junction; next Friday is their closing party.

Peralta Junction - Popup in West Oakland - weekends through November 30, with events Thursday through Sunday. The empty space at Mandela Parkway and West Grand has been transformed into a creative community space filled with art and commerce. Art, food trucks, creative commons, and more. Plaid Friday - Friday, November 23. Shop local! It's always a good idea to shop local, but on Plaid Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, you can join others in supporting local businesses.
